Facility Services Cleaner Team Lead

We are recruiting for a Facility Services Cleaner Team Lead responsible for the day-to-day facilities cleaning services. This position will coordinate designated staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of work, scheduling, developing/implementing procedures and maintaining safety standards to ensure well-maintained facilities.

**As a Facility Services Cleaner Team Lead, you will**:

- Provide day-to-day coordination, task delegation, training and coaching for Facility Services Cleaning staff.
- Creates and maintains staff work schedule ensuring adequate coverage at all internally serviced Town of Cochrane owned/operated facilities.
- Provides Manager with feedback on the Facility Services Cleaner performance to assist with quality standards and performance management process.
- Liaise between Manager to communicate day to day work tasks, and report concerns back to the Manager.
- Review customer inquiries and participate in resolving concerns.
- Coordinate business continuity in the absence of the Manager.
- Ensures own work and work of staff is performed in accordance with workplace health and safety standards, SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and all applicable legislations.
- Conducts regular inspections to ensure proper operation and reliability of equipment and cleanliness/upkeep at all sites.
- Orders supplies and services necessary for the effective operation of facilities while ensuring approved budgetary parameters are maintained.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

**Required**:

- 3 - 5 years related experience in the cleaning industry with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent with post-secondary education in a related field.
- Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, use of cleaning products, and cleaning best practices
- Combination of education and experience may be considered

**Preferred**:

- Municipal experience considered and asset

Skills and Abilities

**Required**:

- Demonstrates excellent customer service, organizational, prioritizing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead others, work independently and manage one’s time
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and role specific software
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to a changing pace and environment

Certifications, Licenses and/or Designations

**Required**:

- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
- WHMIS
- Leadership for Safety Excellence
- Fire Extinguisher
- Standard First Aid and CPR

**Preferred**:

- Leadership for Safety Excellence
