**Job Overview**:We are seeking a skilled and experienced **Vehicle Hardware Installation Technician** to equip our fleet with **dashcams, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and trailer GPS units**. This is a contract position offering flexible weekend work.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Install and configure dashcams, ELDs, and trailer GPS units on straight trucks, tractors, and trailers.
- Ensure proper wiring, functionality, and placement of all devices for optimal performance.
- Conduct basic testing and troubleshooting of installed equipment to confirm successful operation.
- Maintain a detailed log of installations completed.
- Communicate with the fleet maintenance team to coordinate vehicle availability.
- Remove the old dashcams, ELDS, and trailer GPS on straight trucks, tractors, and trailers.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Proven experience in vehicle electrical installation or a similar role.
- Familiarity with dashcams, ELDs, GPS systems, or other vehicle telematics devices is preferred.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to read and understand wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends.
**Additional Requirements**:
- Own tools and equipment for installations (preferred but not required).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
**Compensation**:
- $40 CAD per unit installed.
