**Position Summary**:
**Position Responsibilities**:

- Serves as main point of contact for industry associations and trade and community organizations, serving on committees where appropriate, and attending industry events to represent 407 ETR and stay abreast of emerging priorities of key stakeholders
- Monitors and reports on government policy development, legislation and political announcements impacting 407 ETR’s business activities
- Conducts policy analysis and drafts briefing documents for executive team and Board of Directors as required
- Responds to inquiries from stakeholders and members of the public as required
- Tracks and reports on public affairs KPIs with attention to detail and accuracy, flagging emerging issues and reputational risks as required, and providing strategic advice to Director and Senior Management Team
- Liaises with governmental staff to coordinate meetings, briefings and other communications to protect and advance 407 ETR’s interests, including policy development and legislative consultations
- Works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to successfully lobby government on matters of interest
- Supports the Director of Communications and Government Relations in the development and execution of a stakeholder relations strategies and leads the execution of regular communications touchpoints with stakeholders to meet departmental KPIs
- Leads the communication and coordination of 407 ETR stakeholder engagements and events as required to achieve corporate objectives
- Works with third-party consultants, as required to ensure that deliverables are met on time and in budget

**Qualifications**:

- 10+ years of experience in government relations and public affairs
- University degree in political science, public policy or administration, business administration, communications or journalism
- Exceptional knowledge of municipal and provincial political processes
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Sound judgement and experience navigating sensitive issues while managing multiple stakeholders
- Experience leading stakeholder engagement and events
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work after-hours as required
