With over 30 years of experience, we pride ourselves on our ability to design, develop, and manufacture electro-optics systems that are used across the globe.
The Government Sales Specialist plays a pivotal role in identifying business opportunities, engaging with new clients, developing tailored proposals, and managing existing accounts. This position requires consistent client interaction, in-depth knowledge of industry standards, and a focus on meeting client expectations while driving sales to organizations across international and domestic markets.
The ideal candidate will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager while maintaining regular collaboration with the CEO and COO for contract guidance and approvals. This close cooperation is essential for achieving and exceeding the company's revenue targets.
We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with qualifications including a base salary of $80,000 CAD, and uncapped commission based on sales performance, paid bi-weekly. Benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
This position is not open for remote work and it is an in-office position at our headquarters in Woodbridge, ON.
Required experience:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in Government Sales or Government Procurement is required.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's customer base.
- Conducting the entire sales cycle from customer outreach to closing deals with Government end-use customers and agents.
- Educating customers about our company and products and representing the company in a professional and consistent manner, through online video demonstrations or on-site demonstrations.
- Communicating effectively with customers and partners, utilizing strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the company, actively promote services, gather and exchanges information.
- Represent the company at industry functions, conferences, trade-shows, seminars, meetings, and when necessary, organize and conduct client online presentations, and trainings.
- Staying up-to-date on industry knowledge, competitive offerings and capabilities, and product knowledge to ensure effective communication and demonstration abilities.
- Inform clients of updates in regards to new devices, options and capabilities
- Assist in resolving client concerns relative to service and report quality issues in a timely manner.
- Continuously analyze the market and competition and identify external threats and opportunities and adapt sales strategy to changing conditions.
- Provide weekly, monthly and or quarterly updates as directed
- Providing suggestions for creative solutions for online advertising and social media marketing to the Sales and Marketing team for product promotion, advertising, and campaigns.
- Utilizing Epicor ERP in daily operations with accuracy, following standard operating procedures.
- Maintaining accurate customer records in Excel and Epicor ERP.
- Completing other administrative duties as required.
What you bring to the team:
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the needs and requirements of Military/LE clients;
- A natural ability and eagerness to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring clear and effective communication using appropriate technical terminology;
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with highly professional clients and build strong working relationships;
- A passion for continuous improvement both personally and within GSCI;
- A quick learner, with a positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills;
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong relationship management skills;
- Proficiency in working with MS Office and other essential computer programs for conducting efficient business;
- A second language proficiency other than English is desirable, but not required.
