**ABOUT THE ROLE**
**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**
- Leads the development, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Region’s cyber Enterprise Risk Management strategy, breach response, best practices and frameworks.
- Leads cyber risk management and insurance business process improvements with operating Departments.
- Stays abreast of emerging trends, gathers, analyzes and reviews cyber metrics and data, identifies cyber risks and opportunities, and recommends processes and policies that support cyber risk management principles.
- Acts as a primary contact for internal partners within the Region for cyber risk-related business process improvements.
- Advises and provides recommendations for solutions to ensure compliance with the Cyber Breach Response Framework, related guidelines, practices, and applicable insurance policies.
- Promotes awareness and communications within the Region regarding cyber claims trends and risk mitigation.
- Trains staff throughout the organization in executing the cyber risk program and mitigation tools (e.g. Cyber Risk Information Tool/Cyber Risk Exposure Tool).
- Develops and maintains tools and mechanisms to evaluate, track and report on progress as per the Region’s cyber risk management and insurance goals.
- Participates or coordinates activities related to performance measures (KPI’s); gathers/tracks data or assists with reporting requirements, as directed.
- Develops and presents cyber risk management reports including collecting data, metrics and consolidating information requests.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO YORK REGION**
- Successful completion of a University degree in Business Administration or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of one of the following professional designations: Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Risk Management (CRM), Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker Designation (CAIB), and registration in good standing with the appropriate professional association.
- Preference given to knowledge/training in cyber risk management guidelines including NIST, ITSG-53, CyberSecure Canada, GCA Cybersecurity Toolkit, ISO/IEC 27001, IAPP
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in cyber risk management, insurance, and claims management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of insurance policies issues, insurance case law, and relevant legislation, standards, Acts and Regulations.
- Well-developed investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills to research and identify issues, draft reports and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated report writing, analytical and project management skills to meet program objectives and work to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience working with clients as a trusted advisor.
