**About the Company**

PBF Pita Bread Factory specializes in the development and manufacturing of conventional and organic ethnic baked goods including Pita, Tortillas, Bagels, Naan, Pies, Cookies, & Pizza Pretzels. PBF offers branded, private label, and co-packing services to Canadian and US customers.

**Job Purpose**
- Process end-to-end weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in multiple provinces using our HRIS.
- Serve as the first and primary contact for payroll
- and benefit-related inquiries and provide guidance on all applicable payroll related policies and procedures to employees.
- Ensure accurate calculation of hours, overtime, shift premiums, statutory holiday pay, and other pay differentials per collective agreements, company policy and applicable legislations.
- Reconcile payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Analyze, audit, and maintain accurate employee tax withholding, wage garnishment, direct deposit, wage distribution, and other related payroll data.
- Modify employee wage and tax data accordingly, following best practices and obtaining proper authorization and approvals.
- Assist in the processing, collection, and remittance of special payments including voluntary and involuntary deductions.
- Report payroll to WCB, EHT, and WSIB.
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs), year-end tax slips (T4s), and government remittances.
- Generate payroll reports for business units and departments as required.
- Prepare and gather payroll data for inclusion in financial statements.
- Administer group benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and RRSP/pension plans.
- Enroll new employees and process life events, terminations, and changes in HRIS and benefits coverage.
- Liaise with benefits providers, brokers, and employees to resolve benefits inquiries.
- Conduct monthly benefits reconciliation and assist with annual renewals.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll and benefits documentation.
- Provide support to employees and supervisors in understanding pay statements, benefits coverage, and entitlements.
- Collaborate with HR team members on employee onboarding, leaves, and terminations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and support a respectful workplace environment.
- Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)**
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
- PCP certification (or in progress) through the National Payroll Institute is strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration in a unionized and multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation (BC and Ontario).
- Experience with payroll software system (e.g., ADP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong math/accounting aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities, and work well under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Cultural competency; experience/ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience.
- High level of accuracy and discretion when handling confidential data.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
