**Position Overview**:
The **Steward** plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This position supports the culinary team by ensuring that all dishes, utensils, glassware, and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use. The Steward is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. This role is critical to providing seamless service to our guests and assisting in the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Dishwashing and Cleaning**:
Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing equipment or manually when necessary. Ensure that all items are clean, dry, and organized for use.
- **Kitchen Organization**:
Assist in maintaining an orderly and organized kitchen by storing clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools in their proper locations. Regularly check inventory levels of dishwashing supplies and report when stock needs replenishing.
- **Food Prep Assistance**:
Assist kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables, cutting ingredients, or organizing prep areas.
- **Cleaning & Sanitizing Kitchen Areas**:
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and countertops. Ensure that the kitchen is compliant with all local health and safety regulations.
- **Waste Management**:
Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables, following environmental and sustainability practices. Keep waste disposal areas clean and organized.
- **Support Front-of-House Operations**:
Assist in maintaining clean and organized dining areas by helping with set-ups, clearing dirty dishes from tables, and supporting food runners as needed.
- **Assist with Inventory Management**:
Help ensure that cleaning supplies and dishware are well-stocked and that kitchen areas remain fully stocked with necessary items. Report any inventory shortages to the supervisor.
- **Adherence to Safety Standards**:
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures, including using proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required. Ensure safe handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
- **Collaborative Teamwork**:
Work closely with kitchen and dining staff to ensure smooth operations, assisting where necessary to maintain a clean and efficient working environment.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Previous Experience**:
Prior experience in a kitchen or housekeeping environment is preferred, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- **Physical Stamina**:
Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- **Attention to Detail**:
Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and order.
- **Team Player**:
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with kitchen and service staff in a fast-paced environment.
- **Time Management**:
Ability to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and manage time in a busy kitchen environment.
- **Communication Skills**:
Basic communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- **Health & Safety Knowledge**:
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation guidelines is an asset, but training will be provided.
