Maintenance Assistant Job description and duties
REPORTS TO: FACILITIES MANAGER, ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, GENERAL MANAGER

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the facility including the repair and maintenance of all issues identified as either technical or non-technical and will assist as necessary and/or assigned, all required maintenance functions. This is a full-time, day-shift position reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assists with deep cleaning schedules in all areas of the club
- Assist with maintenance tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure proper operation of club showers, hot tub, gym equipment, and all other customer stations.
- Constantly check for damage to rooms and equipment.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.
- Assist with all other tasks as directed by managers

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma
- 2 years’ Experience labour or maintenance

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
Knowledge
- Knowledge of WHIMIS symbols and proper chemical use and storage
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of general operation of Hot Tubs

**Skills**:

- Basic computer skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Basic Math skills

Abilities
- Physical dexterity
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, use a step stool
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Ability to work in hot environments for short periods of time
- Ability to wear all PPE for specific tasks

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
