- In this role, you will:_
- Ensure the Marine Risk Picture is representative of the risk facing the Babcock Canada Marine Business.
- Ensuring that the Risk Structure is fit for purpose, always looking for ways to improve the techniques employed in identifying and managing risk
- Put in place processes to identify risks and hazards resulting from the work Marine is engaged with
- Manage the information in the corporate risk tool to ensure it is reflective of reality and that to ensure the actions in that tool and which are necessary to mitigate risk are carried out
- Operate in collaboration with the Corporate Risk team to ensure the Marine component of Babcock Canada complies with corporate risk processes and Intent
- Routinely train members of the Marine Team in Risk management and the use of the risk tool
- Act as meeting secretary for the Marine Risk Board and the Hazard Management Groups
- Ensure the reporting products are fit for the governance functions they are used for
- Coordinate the Marine Improvement Initiative to ensure continual improvement across the services the Marine Team provides.
- Manage the register of improvements to ensure it reflects those improvement initiatives underway and proposed, and that the status of those initiatives is accurate
- Provide a reporting capability and reports that demonstrates the effectiveness of Babcock Marine improvements
- Implement and maintain a Performance Management framework
- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, or Project Management
- A minimum of 4 years experience in project management or a relevant field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Risk Management, Performance Management or Organisational Improvement
- Adaptability and are able to quickly adjust to changing priorities
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple tasks at the same time with the follow-through to see a task through to completion
- Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills and you have previous experience in project or program coordination or operations management
- Self-driven work as well as skills in driving and motivating others to perform to targets
- Fully conversant skills in the use of Microsoft Products
- Familiarity with the Department of National Defence or the Defence Industry in Canada is an asset.
- Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date as well as any COVID boosters recommended by public health authorities
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Cleara
