Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, this position supports the administration and coordination of a SSHRC Partnership Grant awarded to Dr. Kiley Hamlin, Professor of Psychology and Director of the UBC Centre for Infant Cognition. The grant, titled _Building a Network of Networks in the Big Team Social Sciences_, involves a large-scale collaborative research initiative in the behavioral sciences, including studies of both human and non-human animals.
The role involves working closely with Dr. Hamlin and various research partners to ensure the smooth functioning of the partnership. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings and events, tracking financial commitments and expenditures, assisting with research activities related to the partnership, and providing general administrative support.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Lab Director (Dr. Hamlin). Works closely with graduate students as well as undergraduate students who may assist with research activities related to the partnership.
Work Performed
Coordinates and schedules meetings and events for project collaborators and research partners.
Supports the planning and execution of partnership-related research activities.
Keeps track of spending relative to budgeted amounts. Checks monthly ledger sheets, identifies discrepancies, and communicates these to the Lab Director for resolution.
Distributes tasks to, and coordinates the work of, undergraduate students and volunteers.
Assists with data entry, management, and presentation using statistical software such as SPSS and R, following clear instructions.
May assist in summarizing key findings from research reports produced by the partnership and/or the Centre for Infant Cognition.
Performs other related duties as required.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Much of the work follows established protocols and performance is monitored. There is room for innovative thinking to improve on these procedures and a need to resolve problems using basic good judgment and common sense. Incorrect decisions could affect the success of the partnership and our ability to confirm future funding.
Supervision Received
Under general supervision, receiving instruction when new duties are assigned and when unusual problems arise. Tasks will be assigned by the appropriate lab director.
Supervision Given
Provides guidance to undergraduate students and volunteers working on the partnership as well as in the lab where partnership activities occur.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications- University degree in Psychology or Science.- Experience involving open science and collaborative research, and/or experimental research in developmental psychology, preferably in a research laboratory setting with a focus on infants and young children is strongly preferred.- Experience in meeting planning and financial tracking preferred.-
