**Awake Residential Support Worker: Job description**

Coastal Mountain Child & Youth Services Ltd, is looking for a Part-Time Awake Residential Child & Youth Worker in the Cowichan Valley. Position is working youth in a 1 to 1 home environment. Role will be providing a treatment focus approach with emphasis on trauma informed practice. Starting Wage is $30.69 with a 3-month probation period which is paid. **Bonus of $500 when probation period is completed.**

Must be enrolled and/or have completed 2-year Child & Youth Care diploma or are enrolled at 3rd year Child & Youth Care BA or related field. Experience is preferred in the social service sector. Knowledge of theory, principles, and practices in the field, Specific skills in harm reduction, de-escalation, and suicide prevention. Written and oral communication will be part of the daily expectations. The ability to work on your own as well as in a team setting in a very fast changing environment. The environment can be stressful. Staff need to be able to set boundaries and work within a multidisciplinary team within the community.
