Are you passionate about delivering exceptional construction projects from blueprint to grand opening? Do you have a strong background in construction budgeting and project coordination? If so, **SNDL** is looking for a **Construction Project Coordinator** to join our team.
Reporting to the **Vi**ce President, Real Estate Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in executing SNDL’s national retail expansion and renovation initiatives across Canada.
**What You’ll Be Doing**:
As Construction Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for end-to-end coordination of retail store construction projects—from budgeting and permitting to final walkthroughs. You’ll ensure seamless execution, alignment with licensing requirements, and timely project delivery.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Construction Planning & Execution**
- Collaborate with licensing and internal teams to align construction timelines with store openings
- Develop detailed budgets for transforming shell spaces into fully built-out retail environments
- Evaluate contractor bids (e.g., CCDC2), participate in vendor selection, and manage RFQs
- Attend project handovers, walkthroughs, and inspections to ensure quality delivery
- Track milestones, report delays, and troubleshoot risks and construction conflicts
**Project Coordination & Reporting**
- Lead construction task planning, resource forecasting, and activity tracking
- Support the VP of Construction in managing internal and external team assignments
- Maintain weekly reports and identify opportunities for workflow improvement
- Document approvals and manage project communications
**Process Optimization & Compliance**
- Drive continuous improvement in construction processes and cost efficiency
- Maintain transparency on project scope changes and their impact on budgets and timelines
- Help standardize planning and scheduling practices across regions
- Participate in strategic planning and scheduling meetings
**What You Bring to the Table**:
- Background as a Quantity Surveyor or strong experience in construction budgeting and cost control
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Construction, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven Project Management experience in retail construction
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an asset
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Highly detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
