**SUMMARY**:
The Beer Buyer will be a person with a strong & genuine passion for the beer, cider, & RTD world. Leading and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the local craft & international beer sections, cider, and RTD’s
- with a heavy focus on customer interactions and sales. The position is “presentation & selection focused”, as they are responsible for maintaining inventory levels, merchandising, signage, and shelf maintenance: all with the mindset of growing our market share. As a key a role of the team, they are expected to be aware of current market trends, proactive in the buying needs of the department, provide exceptional customer interactions, develop strong vendor/agent relationships, possess time management qualities, and have independent decision-making skills - specifically when managers are not present to provide guidance. The Beer Buyer will lead by example in all aspects of their job, including but not limited to: floor presence, customer interactions, sales, work ethic, initiative, teamwork, attendance and dress code. The role is an hourly position requiring flexibility with their schedule, including evening and weekends.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through a culture of service excellence.
- Provide a strong presence
- leading by example in all aspects of personal conduct and follow-through.
- Manage all aspects of beer wall and walk-in cooler maintenance, including: ordering, buying, receiving, product placement, seasonal rotation, cleanliness, inventory management and price tags.
- Maintain industry-leading department condition, and visual merchandising standards
- make a place people want to shop in, and come back to.
- Assist with quarterly Inventory Cycle Counts & the annual Full Count.
- Stay informed of customer needs and buying trends.
- Work with leadership team to help identify opportunities to expand customer base and increase store traffic.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all liquor regulations and provincial health and safety legislation.
- Be up-to-date and engaged on industry trends, new & limited releases
- Maintain and develop strong, and mutually beneficial, relationships with vendors and agents (reps)
- Develop strong and mutually beneficial, relationships with customers.

**Qualifications**:

- 1-3 years’ retail experience
- Extreme passion for the industry

**Salary**: $17.50-$19.75 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vancouver, BC V7X 1L3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 2 years (required)
- Liquor Industry: 1 year (required)
