The Coordinator, Legal assists the Corporation’s lawyers by preparing and finalizing legal documents, maintaining legal records and files, preparing and registering of documents including land and corporate documents, conducting research, and by providing timely and accurate responses to customers, industry contacts, employees, government agencies and senior management of the Corporation.

Position Details- Non-union - This position is permanent full time.

Key Accountabilities- Provide administrative support and assistance on behalf of the Legal Department, in preparing, maintaining, retaining, diarizing, categorizing, organizing, classifying and securing legal documents in multiple formats and locations.- Update and maintain departmental records, systems and files which house official corporate records.- Provide administrative services required by Legal Counsel to document the business activities of the Corporation, taking instructions from Legal Counsel and clients.- Coordinate the collection of information to prepare documents to conform with consistent standards for submission to relevant stakeholders such as the various Information Services Corporation (ISC) registries, Department of Justice and Local Registrars/Court Houses.- Identify the nature, scope and significance of client inquiries to ascertain priorities and direct them to the appropriate individual(s), while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.- Identify, create and document processes within the department.- Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Legal Secretarial Certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution.- Five (5) years of experience in a secretarial or administrative role, which includes experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.- Experience in land acquisition and land titles including ISC registries would be considered an asset.-
- Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.- Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.

Additional Information- Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, may be required on occasion.- A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
