Reporting to the Director of Service & Repair, the Production Manager will be responsible for managing production resources and activities within the repair department to achieve customer satisfaction. This will be accomplished by meeting quality, cost, and delivery goals. The Production Manager will also coordinate with other departments to develop and implement productivity improvements to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness of resources. Additionally, the role involves working with Engineering, Operations, and Quality Assurance to coordinate all production activities involved in the introduction of new products. The position requires grasping the larger business perspective and effectively translating it into specific and actionable activities.

**Job Duties**:

- Oversees the overall flow of repairs throughout the shop floor to achieve maximum efficiency and meet or exceed turnaround times.
- Establishes and actively promotes improvement programs based on quality, cost, and delivery (QCD).
- Coordinates and analyzes service records and procedures in support of implementing and tracking corrective and preventive action activities (CAPA) related to RA/QA direction.
- Works with the Operations Department to identify parts and supplies needed to support production and ensure they are available according to schedules.
- Assures the development of production control department capabilities, including training, education, outside hiring, and other activities necessary to provide the required level of support to the organization.
- Ensures the training of Technicians and Supervisors on the use of new products or processes, and updates are recorded in both skill map and training matrix.
- In coordination with Supervisors, plans and analyzes the scheduling, expediting, and dispatching of repairs to meet key performance indicators and market requirements.
- Reviews Production and Operation reports.
- Coordinates the resolution of operational production and service problems to ensure minimum costs and the prevention of operational delays.
- Advises and recommends actions to management on anticipated output problems, such as parts shortage, engineering changes, equipment failure, approval delays, cancellation of orders, etc.
- Recommends methods of process simplifications, such as reduction of queues, etc., to reduce turnaround times and improve efficiencies.
- Supports continuous improvement measures by providing technical information and reviewing processes as they are revised.
- Responsible for 5S maintenance improvements.
- Supports and ensures actions on internal and external quality review audits.

**Job Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- BS degree in Industrial Engineering or technical equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 3years industrial engineering or related experience in a labor - intensive repair/ service environment at a management level.
- Experience in administering labor control systems including work measurement and evaluation systems.
- Automation assessment and implementation experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel by car/plane for extended periods, including overnight travel.
- Working extra hours and weekends required as needed.

**Preferred**:

- Application of specialized knowledge and skills, together with the principles and methods of analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from the various systems developed.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups, and in managing large teams.
- Strong knowledge of development technologies and problem-solving methods.
- Knowledge of Health Canada medical regulations and/or ISO 13485 regulations, medical instrumentation/hospital equipment systems, and SAP desirable.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for employees who are at risk for exposure to blood or other bodily fluids on the job. Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come into contact with blood or bodily fluids. OCI requires that all employees working in areas that may be exposed to these risks either provide proof of the Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B) vaccination or sign a waiver accepting the possible risk of exposure from not being vaccinated.
