Volunteer Content Creator

We are looking for a **Volunteer Content Creator** to help expand our digital presence and engage our community through social media, podcasting, and other content channels. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital cause while building your portfolio in digital media, content creation, and community engagement. Position Overview: As a **Volunteer Content Creator**, you will play a key role in supporting our digital and media outreach efforts. You’ll help create engaging content for our social media channels, assist with podcast production, and craft messaging that raises awareness about crime prevention and the importance of community involvement. You’ll work closely with our communications team to develop creative content, provide insights into current trends in social media and digital storytelling, and contribute to an ongoing dialogue about crime prevention and safety. Key Responsibilities: - **Content Creation**: Develop graphics, videos, and written content for our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to raise awareness of ongoing crime prevention campaigns, fundraising efforts, and Crime Stoppers' work in the community. - **Podcast Production**: Assist with the development and production of the Crime Stoppers’ podcast, including researching topics, editing audio, creating episode outlines, and posting episodes on various platforms. - **Social Media Strategy**: Support in brainstorming and executing social media strategies, identifying trends, and increasing engagement across platforms. - **Writing**: Write compelling, concise, and accurate posts, blog articles, and stories that align with Crime Stoppers' mission. - **Collaboration**: Work closely with the Crime Stoppers team to align all content with organizational goals, messaging, and community outreach strategies. - **Analytics**: Help track social media engagement and content performance, offering insights on ways to improve and increase outreach. **Requirements**: - Strong passion for community safety and crime prevention. - Experience or strong interest in content creation for digital media, including social media, video, and podcasting. - Knowledge of or willingness to learn about social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and content management tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, Hootsuite). - Basic audio and video editing skills (experience with editing software like Audacity, Adobe Premiere Pro, or other programs is a plus). - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Creative, self-motivated, and proactive, with an ability to work independently. - Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Positive attitude, team player, and ability to take constructive feedback. **Benefits**: - Gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and podcast production for a meaningful cause. - Build your portfolio with real-world examples of social media and podcast content. - Work alongside a passionate and dedicated team committed to making a difference in the community. - Flexible hours that can accommodate your schedule. - Opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization that directly impacts the safety and well-being of Winnipeg residents.
