Established in 1995, DRL Construction is a leading provider of commercial and industrial construction. DRL works exclusively with both the Public and Catholic School Boards as well as Municipalities including and surrounding the GTA.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Perform project-specific quantity takeoffs for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Work closely with Lead Estimator and Project Manager.
- Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing per project specifications and generate estimates.
- Contact suppliers for pricing quotes on the material used to correctly estimate projects
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Review historical cost data and ensure compliance with scope of work.
- Prepare cost analysis by capturing all material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs required.
- Prepare scope of work letters.
- Follow-up on and document all proposals or bid forms as required.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders including engineers, architects, project coordinators, and subcontractors.
- Plan, organize, and complete estimating work independently.
- Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings.
- Liaise with general contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
- Track Site Instruction and Change Orders.

**Requirements**:

- Proficient MS Office.
- Ability to comprehend construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ability to navigate bid websites and obtain and download project and bid information.
- Strong math and analytical skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous interior and exterior estimating experience is an asset. Alternatively, a relevant University Degree or College Diploma (eg. Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering) will be considered.
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence.
- Police Information Check (PIC).

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
