**Type of Employment**: Permanent, full-time position

Concord Premium Meats (CPM) is looking for a new addition to the Health and Safety Department. The Health and Safety Coordinator will leverage their skills and knowledge in order to continue to cultivate a safety culture within CPM facilities. The Health and Safety Coordinator plays an important role in assisting with the management of the day-to-day safety operations. The successful applicant will report to the Director of Health and Safety, and can expect to be responsible for the following duties:

- Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing safety policies and procedures (e.g. Pedestrian Traffic Plans)
- Create, implement, and review Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) and other training materials as required
- Participate/assist Director of Health and Safety or external bodies/companies, in conducting pre-start reviews (PSR), job hazard analysis (JHA), and other required health and safety activities
- Conduct workplace inspections at our offices, production, and storage facilities and continuously follow-up on inspection findings and remedies
- Report unsafe conditions, near misses, equipment malfunctions, outbreaks, etc. immediately to the Director of Health and Safety and Plant Manager/Supervisor
- When applicable, investigate any accidents, incidents, near misses, etc. and complete required documentation
- Keep a presence within production facilities to ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed and consider proactive measures when available
- Provide Health & Safety Orientation, MOL Mandatory Awareness, WHMIS, SOP, and other necessary training on a regular basis
- Organize, track, and maintain training records and monthly training hours
- Any other duties required for the position as assigned by the Director of Health and Safety

**Requirements**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in Health and Safety, or relevant experience
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar working environment (Food or industrial industry is considered a strong asset)
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act_ and applicable regulations
- Strong computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle with a valid Driver’s License
- Flexible work hours and the ability to travel to other work facilities
- Enthusiasm and commitment to learn and grow
