We are looking for an engaged and committed Pilot Truck Operator to join our NexGen Transportation team. NexGen Transportation is a full-service provider of Heavy Haul Transportation and Specialized Rigging based out of Acheson, Alberta with operations throughout Western Canada.

Our NexGen team members are extremely knowledgeable, professional, respected, and excel at the work they do to meet the needs of all our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assemble, configure, and disassemble tractor trailers to prepare for various heavy haul loads.
- Assess and troubleshoot issues pertaining to transportation, particular with the prime mover.
- Transport over dimensional/overweight loads through varying terrain
- Create and coordinate transportation plans.
- Ensure that all transportation loads are measured and weighed, and fall within the assigned permit(s)
- Secure and safely transport various loads.
- Follow all safety and transport legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining all equipment.
- Continuously assessing job hazards, risks, and implementing mitigation factors are required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Proof of a Class 1 Driver License with a clean commercial driver’s abstract (5 years)
- Taking part in pre job FLHA meeting
- Looking after and taking care of an assigned pickup truck
- Proficient in reading permits to understand routing
- Assist team members in loading, unloading cargo
- Able to communicate effectively, with effective interpersonal skill
- Recent experience working within the specialized transportation industry
- Extensive experience working with heavy haul equipment
- Able to follow directions
- Knowledge of transportation legislation and requirements
- Valid proof of CSTS 2020/H2S Alive/First Aid tickets
- Able to contribute positively to a team environment

Working Conditions:

- Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods of time, often on short notice
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position, and you must be able to comply with our Fit for Duty requirements.
