**Job brief**

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments for our Property Management company.

Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

**Responsibilities**
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank deposits and reconciliations.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies, including managing financial records and maintaining accurate accounting ledgers.
- Monitor budget and cash flow to ensure that financial goals are met.
- Communicate with property managers and clients to address any accounting or financial inquiries.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory reports as required.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Basic understanding and ability to generate reports.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven bookkeeping experience.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is good but not required.
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the property management industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with property management software is a plus.
- Proficiency in French and English.

**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year
