**Flexible shifts, ECA/Early Childhood Assistant available in Scarbrough, Toronto, East York and Markham, Aurora, Brampton, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan**

Eligibility:

- Actively studying Early Childhood Education (ECA) or a related program
- Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program OR post-secondary courses in early childhood education may be required and OR experience in child care is require.
- Experience working with children
- Students are highly encouraged to apply

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting lead teachers Actively engaging in educational activities
- Documenting all activities using appropriate systems
- Comforting children and ensuring their inclusion and well-being
- Managing children's personal belongings and maintaining order and cleanliness in the classroom
- Maintaining high standards of sanitation (including body and furniture)
- Organizing the classroom (toys, supplies, etc.)
- Maintaining a behavior log and reporting all issues to the appropriate supervisor
- Assisting children during meal and snack time
- Studying or a recent graduate of Childcare or a related program at a Canadian university or college
- Passionate about children and working in a classroom environment
- Reliable and committed
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and able to communicate with children, coworkers, and parents
- Proficient in using appropriate software systems for documentation, reporting, and classroom operations
- Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents or guardians

Other Requirements:

- Valid up to 6 months, up-to-date vulnerable sector checks (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Experience working within a childcare center
- All Immunization records - 2 steps TB Test1, MMR, Tetanus, Hep B, Varicella, DPT, Flu Shot - annually.
