**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) in the implementation of age-appropriate programs and activities for young children (ages may vary depending on the specific role, e.g., infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarten).
- Support children's learning and development in all domains: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language.
- Providing families with clear communication using our daily report app.
- Ensure to create and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, transitions, and routines (e.g., meal times, toileting, rest periods).
- Participate in role-modelling behaviours and children's play / activities in a positive manner.
- Ensuring children's safety is number one priority at all times, which includes Allergy awareness and ensuring they are
- Observe children and assist in documenting their learning and development under the guidance of the RECE.
- Support individual children with specific needs, as directed by the RECE and program policies.
- Providing additional activities, when needed i.e. rainy/cold days or children lost interest in current activities.
- Foster positive and respectful interactions with children.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with RECEs and other team members.
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of the CCEYA guidelines.
- Assist with classroom preparation, organization of materials, and tidying up.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a licensed child care setting in Ontario.
- A strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.
- Experience assisting with the implementation of early childhood curriculum.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with children, families, co-workers, and Ministry Officials.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions, when needed.
- Love, Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in a child care setting.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- A current TB test (completed within 6 months) and Immunization Record.
- Current Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain one in 30 days).
- All childcare related training or certifications that are an asset, e.g., ECE or ECA diploma/certificate but not necessary.
