**Centre 105: Dishwasher - Job Description**

**Position**:Dishwasher

**Location**: Centre 105, Trinity Anglican Church, Cornwall. 105 Second Street West, Cornwall. Parking and entrance at 25 Trinity Avenue.

**Reports To**: Executive Director, Kitchen Coordinator

**Salary**: $19 per hour

**Start Date**:ASAP

**Term**:Permanent

Centre 105 is a registered charity, offering a breakfast meal program and a safe place to socialize. Centre 105 currently opens Tuesday-Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Collect all dishes, cutlery, and glasses.
- Ensure all dishes are properly sanitized before further use.
- Clean kitchen tools and appliances properly before/after use.
- Along with the three-sink dish washing method, using an industrial dishwasher.
- Clean kitchen floors, storage areas, and take out the waste.
- Keep cupboards and storage area clean and organized
- May be asked to assist with breakfast service, handing out meals and drinks to participants, and helping with the main hall and kitchen set-up and clean-up, as necessary.

**OVERVIEW & PURPOSE**:
To keep our food service kitchen clean and organized, to ensure that dishes and equipment are sanitized and ready for use, all the while making sure that the program participants are cared for, respected and safe.

**OBJECTIVES**:

- To understand the importance of proper dishwashing procedures.
- To organize clean dishes and small wear and return to storage locations.
- Maintain a clean dish area as well as dish disposal area in the dining hall.
- To keep the dishwasher machine clear of debris and clean, and to monitor sanitizer level.
- To remove dish area floor mats once weekly and clean floors underneath.
- Perform a perimeter walk around the church with equipment provided, to check for any drug paraphernalia.
- Must be willing to complete online or in person training
- Will assist other employees and volunteers with kitchen closing duties, and may be required to perform other small kitchen tasks, such as rolling cutlery.
- Always maintain a professional relationship with the program participants. If any issues or requests by participants arise or if you have questions or concerns bring them up to the Executive Director or Social Support Worker.

**TYPICAL DAY SCHEDULE**:

- Shift begins at 8am, earliest arrival possible is 7:30am. Shift is over at 1pm.
- Quick perimeter check
- Set up dish area, (follow instructions on the wall behind the sink for 3 sink set up), as well as dish disposal area in the dining hall, (cutlery bin needs to have soap and water for cutlery to soak).
- Roll cutlery until dishes begin to come in.
- Continue to do dishes.
- Continue to check in the dining hall for dirty dishes. (During the summer there is also a dish bin outside by the picnic tables.
- Wash the sinks, and dish area counters and walls, as well as the dish area cart.
- Put all the clothes and towels in the laundry basket.
- Ask other employees and volunteers if they need assistance.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
