Reporting to the West Region Transportation Manager, the incumbent will maintain a positive relationship between McKesson and our Transportation Service Providers. Specifically, the Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for daily Transport Operations at their respective DC while ensuring the most efficient and economical manner of outbound transportation to customers while maintaining, or exceeding, expectations.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide leadership to facilitate business needs in the transportation department including:

- Transportation Service Provider management and compliance:

- Successful execution of daily delivery schedule
- Confirmation of Transport Service Provider asset availability to accommodate daily / and projected volumes
- Accountable for Transport Service Provider asset arrival timing to DC (outbound Final Mile and Linehaul)
- Transport Service Provider temperature compliance
- Correct route / sequence completion
- Non-delivered / returns process compliance
- Daily Transport Service Provider performance reporting
- Transport Service Provider tracking and expediting, if needed
- Assists in the establishment, maintenance, and enforcement of West Transportation operating procedures
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Work with the appropriate internal customers and external service providers to ensure the most cost effective and efficient methods of scheduling and routing are in place and being adhered to
- Adhere to, and enforce, evaluation criteria used to measure Transport Service Provider performance:

- Perform regular Transport Service Provider performance evaluations to ensure providers meet McKesson Canada goals and objectives with respect to transportation activity
- Provide field support to freight/transportation service providers and respective DC
- Resolve customer/ Transport Service Provider complaints or requests that require escalation
- Work with Transportation Mgmt. to perform ongoing reviews of customer and business requirements to determine the best use of current Transport Service Provider base
- Ensure department provides excellence in customer service by providing timely resolution to all transportation related issues

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Trains and leads Transport Service Providers, evaluates their performance, encourages and assists them with their development
- Ensure that company and governmental policies are respected
- Ensure that Transport Service Providers follow company Health and Safety policies
- Ensure that all Transport Service Providers are aware of, and comply with, the health and safety issues and principles outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations by offering training (e.g., orientation and safety talks), verbal and written safe operating procedures, perform regular workplace inspections, and enforces safe operating procedures and use of personal protective equipment

**Requirements**:

- University degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred, or relevant combination of post-secondary education and experience
- 3-5 years of experience in the transportation industry (courier, LTL, FTL, FM)
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical Transportation Industry (Asset)
- Knowledge of Health Canada compliance (Asset)
- Ability to travel as required
