JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Overview

The Production Technician will provide support to the Production & Project Team

SALARY: $26.00-$33.00 per hour

- Permanent, Full Time Salaried
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am - 2:30pm

REPORTING TO: Director, Projects & Production Operations

SUPERVISOR**:Production Coordinator / Director, Projects & Production Operations

RELATIONSHIPS

The Production Testing Technician of Simson Maxwell will develop and maintain good
business and/or working relationships with the following:

- Customers
- Sub-contractors
- Coordinators, Director - Projects & Production Operations, Service Manager,
- Technicians, Project Manager- Other Simson Maxwell Staff

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moving equipment around the shop floor with forklift, pallet jacks, and overhead

cranes
- Fluent in interpreting generator layout blueprints, wiring drawings, and kit lists
- Provide technical feedback through redlined drawings
- Good understanding of A/C power
- Assembling and wiring of Power Generators (Hands-on Training to be provided)
- Metal fabricating, painting, and welding
- Gradually transition to testing of completed equipment (Training to be provided)
- Gradually transition to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical engine components

& accessories (Hands-on Training to be provided)

QUALIFICATIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physically able to stand, lift, crouch and kneel
- Welding / fabrication experience is required
- Have own basic hand tools
- Have mechanical assembly experience (heavy equipment assembly experience is
- an asset)- Comfortable working and testing on or around components where live voltage may
- be present- Millwright or Mechanic in Heavy Duty/Diesel Engine

3rd & 4th year apprentices will be considered

supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
