**Job Title**: Child/Youth Support Worker
- **Population**: Working with children and youth diagnosed with Autism and/or FASD.
- **Safety**: May encounter physically aggressive behaviors, so appropriate Personal Safety Protection Gear will be provided.
- **Responsibilities**: Following a structured program/routine based on developmental and mental health needs.

Collecting data on behaviors, eating habits, and skill levels.Planning and executing age-appropriate activities for learning and development.May be providing direct one to one support to a child/youth or providing support to 2 children/youth
- May be required to attend school as a Child and Youth Support Worker and work in collaboration with an Educational Assistant from the Board

Maintaining open communication with parents/guardians about progress and concerns.Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the childcare area.Managing conflicts between children in a fair and respectful manner.Adhering to child welfare guidelines and regulations.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children/youth diagnosed with Autism and/or FASD.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- College Diploma or relevant life experience.
- Must have up to date vaccinations as well as COVID vaccine
- Must be able to provide a vulnerable sector check
- Must have a valid driver's license and have available their own vehicle while at work to transport clients

- Ability to handle potentially challenging behaviors in a calm and composed manner.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain structured routines and childcare environment.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with parents/guardians and other team members.
- Adaptability to tailor activities to individual needs and adjust strategies as necessary.

**Training and Professional Development**:

- Regular training on working with individuals with Autism and FASD.
- Training in crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Ongoing education to stay updated on best practices in the field.

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
