NOTICE OF VACANCY

**POSITION: HOUSING SUPPORT WORKERS**
**Permanent Part-time Midnights**
(Midnights and Weekends)

***:As a member of the Stratford/Perth Shelterlink collaborative team, the Housing Support Worker provides direct, quality, and safe supports to youth experiencing homelessness in accordance with Stratford/Perth Shelterlink’s policies, under the supervision of the Shelter Manager.

**REPORTS TO**: Shelter Manager, Stratford/Perth Shelterlink

**DATE REQUIRED**:As soon as possible

**SALARY**: $20.00 hourly (plus shift premium for nights)

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Services, Social Services, Psychology, Education or equivalent education an asset or work-related experience
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification and First Aid Certificate required

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Basic counselling, team building, negotiating and mediation skills
- Working knowledge and/or experience with community resources, programs and/or services as related to youth
- Office administration including experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

**SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Ability to take charge, think quickly and act appropriately in a crisis situation
- Ability to deal with unresolved situations, frequent change, delays and unexpected events with a calm demeanour
- Skilled in organization and planning as well as the ability to creatively develop and communicate unique solutions to client’s problems
- Able to create positive energy and motivation within groups and individuals and demonstrates tolerance of ambiguity
- Demonstrates time management skills as it pertains to writing clean and concise notes for data management purposes
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
