Reporting to the General Foreman or Superintendent, the Civil Foreman is responsible for the daily operations of an assigned crew while being directly responsible for safety, production and adherence to company policies and procedures. **This is a remote and rotational based position on site that requires flexible working hours.**

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:

- Daily communications with the site Superintendent and General Foreman regarding project updates
- Schedule and assign tasks based on project requirements and needs
- Supervise, lead and mentor the assigned crew on a daily basis
- Adhere to all Sigfusson Northern policies and procedures while leading by example
- Ensure crew members quality of work meets specifications and project requirements
- Conduct hazard assessments and communicate all findings with the crew immediately
- Review and sign FLHA cards required from the crew
- Completeproficiency forms for the crew as required
- Client management as needed
- Review and approve a high volume of timecards on a daily basis
- Evaluate the site environment and communicate potential improvements and concerns in a timely manner

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:

- Minimum 5+ years of extensive field experience in heavy construction is required
- Train the Trainer and other supervisory training will be considered an asset
- Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as electronically
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Must always keep safety a top priority
- First Aid training will be considered an asset
- Additional safety training such as hazard identification, accident investigation etc. will be considered an asset.
