Gracewood Homes is active in all areas of construction. We offer a turn-key service structure to our clientele looking after everything from design, permitting, small and large home renovations and new custom & spec builds.
With the incredible growth we have been blessed with, we are actively seeking an individual to fill the role of On Site Lead & Skilled Labourer for our team. This position is fit for someone who is proficient at decision making, priority setting, and communication. This person should have an on-time/on-budget brain who can change course quickly and thrives on execution and time management. Must be reliable and punctual.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Hands on work as required at various job sites. Work could include, but not limited to demo, minor framing, insulation, etc)
- Working closely with the General Contractor & Lead Designer in the day to day tasks and requirements on site for any given ongoing project
- Fostering relationships with new trades and sub-contractors
- On site task management with freelance trades & sub-contractors
- Communicate with the General Contractor on a daily or weekly basis with site updates
- Receiving deliveries on site and inspecting products for damage and quality
- Ensuring trades have what is required prior to starting
- Ensuring project site is clean & safe at end of day or week
- Site progress photos
- Assists with material & hardware management by identifying inventory shortages that may impact work getting completed
- Ensuring health & safety protocols are being met on each project site by subcontractors & trades
- Communicates with Project Manager on challenges on jobsite, estimate time left to complete work, and other communication as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Represent the company with dignity and tact when dealing with public or public events
**Knowledge Skills & Abilities Needed**:
- Knowledge & proficiency with using power tools required
- Customer service focused
- Proactively identify potential issues and develop effective solutions
- Highly organized, detail oriented & self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
- Solid relationship building skills
- Strong knowledge of construction processes through all phases
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
**Your Qualifications**:
- 2+ years of experience in construction/trades
- Position requires drivers license and ability to get to and from job sites independently
- Ability to handle confidential information & hold oneself to a very high standard of integrity
- Ability to read & understand construction-related drawings/documents
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
