**REPORTING TO**:
Metrolinx Community Connector Program

**SCHEDULE**:
Weekdays with some evenings and weekends as required

**HOURS**:
Approximately 20 hours per week; $19.00/hr

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Attend paid training sessions to obtain knowledge of:

- the Hamilton Light Rail Transit Project
- interpersonal skills and sensitivity required to engage with a diverse demographic of residents and business owners along the proposed corridor

Once the training period is completed, you will:

- Distribute project literature and other information about the project
- Visit businesses and residential properties to inform, educate, and engage the community about the transit project and gather feedback
- Collect contact information and responses to surveys to help inform decisions and learn more about stakeholder needs and business operations as construction of the project progress
- Organize information sessions in community hubs in the area
- Meet quotas/targets set out in project goals

**Canvasser Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of and experience gained by living in Hamilton is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and superior customer service skills
- Able to work without supervision and exercise good judgement
- Able to travel extensively throughout Hamilton and the extended GTHA
- Able to work outdoors in all weather and to walk and stand for long periods
- Able to start work, including the paid training sessions in short order
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN (Social Insurance Number)
- Must be able to provide banking information in order to receive payment
- Special consideration will be given to those who demonstrate fluency in other languages in addition to English
