**Job Purpose**:To use geospatial technology and other analytical tools to make a tangible impact on environmental conservation in BC through mapping, data management and data analysis that supports the mission of the BC Parks Foundation, BC Conservation Fund, and ongoing collaborative stewardship between First Nations, local communities, and government.

**Role Summary**:
The Conservation Data Analyst will lead data integration and analysis efforts for the Foundation’s Conservation program, comprising the BC Conservation Fund and Land teams, including collaborating with diverse partners to collate and update spatial datasets, identifying and implementing data analytical tools and platforms, maintaining spatial databases, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all GIS data, and maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity. The Analyst will also support program administration within the Conservation team by conducting quantitative assessments of funding proposals and proposed projects and other spatial analyses that inform decision-making and reporting, as well as create and update detailed, interactive maps that effectively communicate complex information to a wide audience.
**Responsibilities**:
- Identify, update, integrate, and maintain databases for spatial terrestrial attributes and monitoring outcomes
- Maintain an ongoing dialogue with partners to source datasets and ensure mapping data is kept up to date
- Conduct data quality, data cleaning, and metadata updates on a regular basis
- Conduct spatial analysis, interpret results, and generate reports that inform decision-making and recommendations in the BC Conservation Fund and Land teams
- Create and update maps to support program administration and communications
- Assist with identifying and implementing a data-aggregating and monitoring platform for BC Conservation Fund and Land projects
- Analyze monitoring and remote-sensing data to generate periodic progress reports on conservation outcomes
- Assist with identifying and implementing a prioritization tool for conservation areas in BC
- Co-supervise student interns working on Conservation Fund and Land projects
- Contribute to a constructive, results oriented, and inspiring organizational culture

**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in GIS, geospatial data analysis, data visualization, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience with spatial data management, editing, and conversion
- Minimum diploma or undergraduate degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science or a related field; or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
- Strong skills in spatial and data visualization, remote sensing and landscape analyses
- Strong skills in map creation, data visualization, and report generation
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, highly organized
- Capable of identifying issues and problem-solving accordingly
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Adaptable to a fast-changing environment, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
**Skills and Experience Considered an Asset**:
