We are currently seeking an individual as a Design Assistant to assist Designers in administrative tasks and provide support to multi-faceted team of designers and engineers of the company. **Responsibilities**
- Assist with the preparation of layouts, conceptual designs and drawings for telecom overhead and underground projects Work could includes fibre or copper cable placements in either underground or overhead structures.
- Assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, design package preparation, client support, and other administrative tasks under the direction of a designer.
- Assist in conducting site visits in order to pick up required field data, take photographs, determine any obstacles or safety issues, etc.
- Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, preparing permits to municipalities, submitting and receiving data from BC Onecall.
- Interface with other internal design teams, coordinate with related stakeholders, and assist designers, team leads and managers.
- Use CAD software and computer-aided design methods in the preparation of design drawings

**Qualifications**
- A diploma or certificate in an engineering technology preferred. CAD and or Geomatics certificate would also be considered.
- Strong knowledge in the use of Autocad.
- Experience with Excel and Word.
- Experience with Telus design systems (Spatial-Net) and standards an asset.
- Class 5 driver's license

**Skills and Competencies**
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organization skills.
- Proficient at reading and interpreting technical design drawings and details
- Proven problem solving abilities
- Energetic and results-driven
