Manager, Food

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their job and enjoys working in a team environment. The ideal Manager has the ability to motivate and direct their team. They are well organized, can multitask and has strong communication skills.
The job is fast-paced and physically demanding at times.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain high standards on quality of food and service
- Manage shift schedule to control labor cost
- Manage beverage inventory to control costs
- Implement and adhere to Health and Safety policies
- Conducts weekly beverage inventory and places orders
- Oversees the booking, recording and execution of all dining reservations and catering orders
- Assist with the execution and staffing of all meetings, banquets and special occasions on property
- Perform administrative duties pertaining to staff (hiring, dismissals, performance reviews and training)
- Be visible in the restaurant and pub during peak hours (12-2 and 6-9 pm)
- Have an excellent rapport with the customers and strong customer service skills
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints
Job Requirements:
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience in a hotel or restaurant
- Post-secondary education, preferably in hospitality
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
- Works irregular hours, weekends and major holidays
- Long hours sometimes required
- Strong knowledge of service standards
- Strong working knowledge of related computer software, including restaurant management software
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data
- Must have own transportation as public transit stops 1 km from the hotel.
