DANCE CO STUDIO MANAGER

Founded in 1992, Dance Co holds over 450 dance classes each week with more than 1,000 students studying annually. Dance Co operates 2 distinct venues for dance education with 8 state-of-the-art studios on the Westside of Vancouver and 4 state-of-the-art studios in Vancouver’s Fraserhood neighbourhood. Our students range from the age of 3 to 30+ at all levels of dancing ability; from beginner to professional. Reporting to the Director, the Programming Director and the Office Manager this position plays a vital role in the day to day operations of the studio.

Qualifications:

- An energetic and organized individual who thrives working in a fast paced and evolving environment
- Experience working in a private academic or artistic school will be considered an additional asset.
- Minimum 2+ years management experience, including customer service, staff and project supervision. Experience in managing multiple departments would be considered an asset. A detail-oriented supervisor, that is open to direction and collaborative work style. Demonstrates strong leadership and initiatives.
- Enjoys working and interacting with children of all ages
- The ability to time manage and prioritize time sensitive matters with a keen sense of urgency and appropriate delegation of duties.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong writing skills; able to compose correspondence and communication, including marketing content and initiatives.
- Project and event management experience, with efficiency from conception through to completion and with the ability to meticulously organize and time-manage to complete on schedule.
- Human resource skills, with experience in interviewing, hiring, training and reviews.
- Skills in Microsoft Office, Google Drive + Mindbody and/or Jackrabbit (or similar arts management software)
- Post-secondary education in Business or Arts Management is an asset.
- Knowledge of a competitive or recreational dance studio environment is also valuable but not required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Daily Duties include but are not limited to:

- Managing day-to-day operations (including admin staff scheduling, ordering supplies, communicating with parents)
- Oversee, schedule and manage all staffing and student / client aspects of events, workshops, competitions and exams.
- Overseeing studio maintenance
- Supervise, train and schedule junior admin staff
- Assist in planning in-house events
- Assist in the running of the retail store (i.e. uniform requirements, uniform orders, inventory etc)
- Assist with the organisation and planning of costumes
- Assist with finding substitute teachers when necessary

Mandatory Event Dates
- May 29th-June 4th 2025
- August 11th - 29th 2025

This is a full time and permanent position with the schedule of Tuesdays - Fridays from 12:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturdays from 9:15am - 4:45pm. Schedule may change due to daily needs and also during Spring Break/Summer. Must be available for all shows and extra events. Benefits available with potential for growth in the position. Starting salary based on education and experience. Wage increase potential based on performance.

Start Date: ASAP

Wage: $50,000 - $60,000 per year
