Housing Manager

The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) has been meeting the needs of Aboriginal people making a transition to the urban Vancouver community. VAFCS is seeking a Housing Manager to plan and deliver affordable Indigenous housing and services across Metro Vancouver.
**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
- Develops collaborative relationships with local stakeholders and participate in relevant community and stakeholder meetings.
- Develops and implements property management plan for each housing complex that incorporates the facility condition index, characteristics of the tenant population and required/available community support services.
- Procures and manages the work of external service providers, directly or through Shelter Managers and/or Transition House Manager; determines terms of reference, negotiates, and monitors contractual agreements for specialized maintenance, grounds and renovation work, as required.
- Manages the completion of site condition inspections when needed, in response to operational concerns and in preparation for lease renewal negotiations.
- Ensures that facilities are maintained consistent with best practices regarding energy conservation, carbon footprint reduction, LEED certification and other relevant environmental standards.
- Manages and coordinates the contract management and compliance program; this program will address mandatory compliance requirements in relations to legislation and accepted industry standards for the maintenance of building systems (mechanical, electrical, and other services)
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

**Salary**: $33.00-$36.00 per hour
