Position Overview
Vantage is looking for an accounts receivable specialist to join its accounting operations team and be responsible for the financial relationship with our customers in North America. The accounts receivable specialist will be responsible for the full-cycle financial administering of customers, from billing to cash receipts, including account management. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining our customer database, including their operational and financial data. Finally, the accounts receivable specialist will participate in month-end activities by reconciling certain key accounts, providing aging reports, and maintaining a sound documentation system for our financial documents.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage the administrative relationship with our clients, including billing, cash receipts, and customer and subledger maintenance;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve issues related to a high-growth of our customer base with a prime customer-service focus;
- Ensure a sound financial document management and archival system.
Duties
- Create customer accounts and maintain their files;
- Bill services to customers, record cash receipts, reconcile individual accounts and general ledger accounts related to customers;
- Update the customer database in real-time;
- Collaborate with the head of enterprise sales and the technical coordinators to ensure an alignment between commercial and financial operations;
- Perform collection activities and escalations when necessary;
- Execute internal controls related to customer tasks, including fiscal compliance of sale transactions
- Organize, classify and archive the Company’s financial documents; and
- Participate in special projects, depending on business needs.
Job Requirements
- Certificate or technical diploma in accounting, a requirement;
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a large, complex organization’s Finance team;
- Understand contractual language and entity structures
- Experience in the real estate, construction or service industries, preferred;
- Facility with task organization and planning, multi-tasking and handling multiple files simultaneously and autonomously;
- Thoroughness, professionalism and proficient in interpersonal relationships;
- Resourcefulness, autonomy and facility to function in a high-growth, fast-paced environment in which processes and standards are not always already established.
- Strong customer-service skills, both with internal colleagues and third-parties
- Knowledge of Yardi Voyager, preferred but not required;
- Knowledge of FreshBooks, preferred but not required;
- Bilingual (French, English)
- Proficient in the Windows and Office 365 environment.
- Intermediate Excel, customer portals, and use of technology preferred
