Heavy Equipment Operator

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, we are seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic - Journeyman Red Seal to join our Mining Team. Contributing to our safety first production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mobile equipment and stationary equipment as required to minimize downtime, and to further advance our continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

**Job Type**: Full-time

**Work Locations Include**: Windermere and / or Canal Flats British Columbia

**Shift**: Monday to Friday Day Shift

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Operation of heavy equipment (Front end loader, haul truck, dozer, skid steer)
- Operation of rock crushing plant
- Perform duties such as shoveling, sweeping, cleaning and lifting
- Must be comfortable with filling in paperwork
- Other duties as required

- Must have versatile skills and be able to handle various job tasks.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Preference:

- Valid BC Mines Blasting Certification
- Valid BC Mines Shift Boss Certification
- Drilling Experience
- Valid Class 3 or 1 Drivers License

- The unionized mine operates on a 5 days per week schedule.
- This is a permanent, full-time position (Days).
- This position will be based at Windermere and / or Canal Flats British Columbia
- Mine and RHP operations are operated outdoor with exposure to weather conditions, dust and noise and industrial solvents and lubricants..
- Ability to walk extended distances across rough terrain, climb slopes that are commonly encountered in a quarry environment. Occasionally lift 50 lbs. Bending, stooping and climbing
- Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards, whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated.
