Packaging Supervisor

**Role Summary**:
The Packaging Supervisor leads a team of packaging operators towards achieving daily and weekly objectives for the safe and efficient operation of high-speed bottling and canning lines.
**Accountabilities**:
- Provide supervisory oversight of a production line, ensuring that safety, productivity, and quality standards are achieved.
- Participate in the hiring process, orientation, and onboarding of new hires.
- Develop training plans for packaging employees and following through to completion.
- Manage performance on an ongoing basis, providing feedback consistently.
- Evaluate performance on a formal basis once per year.
- Direct and train personnel on safety procedures involving specific job duties as well as general plant safety guidelines.
- Maintain strict Sanitation GMP and HACCP procedures to compliance requirements for the facility.
- Responsible for all elements of the sanitation program including employee training, proper documentation of Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS), and other related administrative requirements.
- Direct and train personnel on specific duties and responsibilities to achieve and maintain proficiency for all job functions.
- Participate in coordinating and directing standard operating line adjustments and troubleshooting with line operators (i.e. code dates, glue adjustments, rail adjustments, limited changeovers, etc.) in preparation for daily line set up and start-up.
- Maintain effective communications within the operations group including operations peers and employees.
- Monitor product quality ensuring compliance to specifications.
- Involves constant communication with QA personnel, filtration, line operators, and maintenance tradesmen.
- Notifies maintenance of major machine malfunctions and coordinates the required maintenance with the maintenance supervisor.
- Lead continuous improvement teams on process improvement initiatives.
- Complete daily packaging reports and submit them in a timely manner.
- Complete Investigations as required and implements corrective actions.
- Communicate company policy and procedures.
- Issue disciplinary action for policy non-compliance (i.e. safety procedures, attendance, work rules, job performance, etc.)
- Conduct workplace inspections and participate in safety meetings with JH & SC.
- Conduct daily crew meetings with employees.
**Qualifications**:
- 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership role
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience leading continuous improvement teams
- Food or Beverage sanitation experience an asset
- Action-oriented, excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work and communicate across all boundaries
- Solid command of safety and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, often with demanding time constraints
- Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in decision making
- Able to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, and nights as well as overtime as required.
**Compensation**:
Salaried - range.
**Shift**:
Continental straight days or straight nights including 2 weekends a month.
