**JOB DESCRIPTION: PROGRAM MANAGER: HELP US HELP**

Founded in 1993, Help Us Help is a federally registered Canadian charitable organization, focused on humanitarian aid and educational projects in Ukraine and in Canada. Over the span of three decades, the organization has delivered more than $25 million dollars in charitable aid to projects and organizations engaged in the areas of humanitarian aid, education, literacy, arts and culture, social work, civil society, and more.

Help Us Help is seeking a motivated and passionate **Program Manager** to lead its flagship programs, benefitting children and youth in Ukraine. Working out of the Help Us Help office in Toronto, Canada, the Program Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders in Canada, Ukraine and beyond, to lead every aspect of planning and delivery of these programs, which are central to our mission, vision and values.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the selected applicant will be the team lead on Help Us Help’s flagship programs, responsible for their successful delivery.
- Collaborate on and support strategic initiatives as directed by the organization, contributing to the achievement of its mission, vision and values.
- Take ownership in orchestrating the entire project management life cycle for the HUH programs, from inception and development, to volunteer recruitment, procurement of supplies, and fundraising, to seamless implementation, meticulous reporting and evaluation in order to ensure positive outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Foster robust connections and liaise effectively with the Help Us Help teams in Canada and Ukraine, and a diverse network of partner groups, forging strong relationships to advance our shared goals.
- Oversee program execution, monitor progress, evaluate outcomes against predefined metrics, and produce comprehensive reports. Work with internal and external partners to lead the delivery of timely and transparent program communication, responsible and accurate financial management and reporting, and fulfillment of other key responsibilities.
- Innovate and guide the development of an impactful community outreach strategy, mobilizing volunteers to actively and consistently engage with our mission.
- Shape a culture of continuous learning and growth by planning and delivering ongoing training sessions for our dedicated volunteers.
- Work inclusively within the HUH team to be a key contributor to our impactful communication with stakeholders, leveraging various channels, including social media, mailings, and newsletters, in a variety of settings - print, digital, and community events - to effectively share our story and impact with a broad and diverse audience.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and HUH Board of Directors, taking a lead role in executing events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director which are required for Help Us Help to work towards its mission, vision and values.

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated program management experience with a proven track record of successful programs and events; PMP certificate is an asset
- Proven successes in communications with multiple stakeholders, including an understanding of the nuances of working with donors in the setting of a charity which heavily relies upon fundraising
- Proactive self-starter with a demonstrated understanding of the non-for-profit sector in both Canada and Ukraine
- Understanding the current climate and evolving needs of children and youth in Ukraine

**Skills**:

- Fluent verbal, written communication skills in both Ukrainian and English
- Sensitivity to cultural, educational, and professional norms in both Ukraine and Canada
- Demonstrated team player with a highly collaborative and hands-on approach
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- Self-motivated with the ability to exhibit agility and embrace change
- Proficiency in business software, donor databases, social media platforms, graphic design programs, etc.
- Fundraising and grant-writing experience
- Event planning and management experience
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High level of ethics, responsibility and professionalism
- Eligible to work in Canada with any employer
- Valid passport or travel documents for domestic and international travel
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness and ability to travel, in Canada and internationally, for work-related programs and events (up to 30%)
- Ability to work in-person, full-time, at the Help Us Help office in Toronto, Canada. Office hours: from Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

**Education**:

- University degree or college diploma in communications, management; or equivalent professional experience
