The Office of Student Judicial Affairs (OSJA) is a connection point for students who seek support and guidance when experiencing conflict and we work with faculty to shape ongoing educational opportunities in relation to academic integrity and classroom behavioral expectations. We are a centralized service for all students ensuring they are aware of their Rights and Responsibilities. We help students find ways forward through their college journey.
The OSJA is in the process of reimaging its service. This position will form part of the team that redesigns our service and approach to Student Affairs. Reporting to the Student Judicial Affairs Manager**,** the Student Judicial Affairs _Advisor
- Academic Integrity Support,_ plays a pivotal role in advising students, faculty and staff related to Academic Misconduct procedure and academic integrity. This position will monitor, and process Academic Misconduct reports submitted to the OSJA through a case management system. The advisor position will provide support to students through disclosure acceptance and will provide regular office hours, in addition to offering workshops and presentations on Academic Integrity topics.
**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Provide advice, information, and assistance in person, over the phone, and through other digital means to students, faculty, and staff in relation to The Student Judicial Affairs Policy and the associated procedures.
- The Advisor monitors and processes Academic Misconduct submissions using a case management system on regular basis.
- This role will assist with ensuring the Academic Misconduct procedure is properly applied and followed in Academic Misconduct cases.
- This role will assist in developing resources to explain the Academic Misconduct and best practices related to academic integrity to the NorQuest Community.
- This role will assist in collaborating with instructors and/or programs in creating and participating in classroom learning opportunities and projects.
- This role will assist in managing and updating the OSJA-managed Moodle course about Academic Integrity.
- This role will ensure that cases flow through proper protocols and process files according to the appropriate Privacy Regulations. This requires a deep understanding of the policy and procedural framework that exists around academic expectations and community defined standards of behavior.
- The Advisor will provide a EDIAR and Trauma Informed approach in meeting with students and processing student cases.
- This position is part of the OSJA team and will work with the entire team to support the operation of the office. This may include providing presentations to students and faculty, developing resources to simplify and explain processes, arranging and developing student consultations, updating materials on the website and in student handbooks, and supporting other areas of the office during peak times.
**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a learning environment with people from diverse backgrounds**.**:
- Experience with a post-secondary setting and/or direct experience supporting adult learners.
- Some case management experience. Specifically, to the extent that an understanding of privacy, confidentiality, consent, records management, FOIP exists.
- Provide evidence or otherwise demonstrate experience in advancing EDIAR anti-oppressive approaches within the post
- secondary setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Academic and behavioral Standards in Canadian post-secondary settings.
- Demonstrate knowledge in academic integrity.
- Demonstrate ability to work positively in a team environment with limited supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to manage and diffuse conflict.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in Moodle, Kaltura, and other learning platforms would be an asset.
**SALARY**: $54,028 - $70,193 Reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full time perm position in Edmonton, Alberta.
We offer flexible work options. this position has on-campus obligations. There is an expectation that this position would be on campus a minimum of 3 full days per week and a maximum of 5 days per week.
