**Inventory Specialist (Maternity Leave Contract 18 Months)**
This position offers a dynamic working environment that will provide a different challenge each day. You will maintain records of materials in inventory, monitor orders and initiates plans to replenish stock. You will pre-plan inbound trailers to ensure they are stored for maximum efficiency within the warehouse while also adhering to FIFO and back order rules. You will monitor current inventory levels and alert management for any discrepancies you may find. You will be involved in special projects and also help interpret reports revolving around inventory.
**Salary**:$53,000 to $57000
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**
Operations
- Perform general warehouse duties as required
- Constantly look for ways to better organize and maintain the warehouse
- Special projects, when required
- Help obtain competitive quotes to ensure best value has been obtained for special projects
- Operate various pieces of mobile equipment to perform duties around the warehouse, when required
- Attends Health and Safety meetings, when required
- Attends daily team meeting to discuss any inventory issues
- Ensure product is made available for sale to our internal customers
- Maintain professional communications over the provided radio
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
**Operational Excellence**
- Working with management to find ways to consistently improve operations through strategic placement of inventory within the building
- Researches products or services that will deliver the best value to the warehouse before putting forth a recommendation, especially on special projects
- Assist other warehouses, as required, on special projects, assignments or training opportunities (may require some travel)
**Health, Safety & Environment**
- Provide timely reporting of all safety related issues
- Take an active approach to accident prevention and report any incidents or accidents that occur in the workplace
- Follow safe operating procedures at all times understanding the different requirements for various parts of the yard
- Ensure training and certification requirements are kept up to date for all aspects of machines or tools required for the job
- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
- This position will require working in a variety of seasonal environments both in and outdoors
**WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**
- 1-2 years of previous inventory control experience in a 200,000+ square foot building.
- Tire Industry experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Forklift/Order picker preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Clean driving record
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office-related programs
- Physical ability to lift 10-65 pounds, bend, kneel, crouch and lift when required
