Founded in 1969, the Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM) is a non-profit institution that has been spreading a love of learning and musical excellence for generations of aspiring musicians. Minutes away from downtown in a traffic-calmed location, VAM is housed in a spacious facility with teaching studios, large classrooms, two performance halls, and the inspiring scenic backdrop of Vanier Park.

In addition to private lessons and class instruction, VAM students have the opportunity to engage with world-renowned visiting artists in masterclasses, exchange with national and international partners, and participate in numerous performance and competition opportunities. VAM’s fundamental purpose is to explore the transformative power of music through fostering an inclusive learning environment led by a team of devoted faculty with strong professional backgrounds.

As the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving VAM’s overall marketing and communications strategy. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative marketing initiatives to enhance our brand awareness, attract prospective students, engage with the community, and support VAM’s overall growth and success.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to promote VAM’s programs, events, and initiatives;
- Collaborate with other members of the administrative team to align marketing initiatives with VAM’s overall strategic goals;
- Oversee the production of marketing materials, including brochures, videos, press releases, promotional posters, newsletters, and advertisements;
- Design creative content including major concert programmes, VAM’s bi-annual printed newsletter, social media content, and program-specific promotional materials;
- Analyze marketing data and trends to evaluate campaign effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement;
- Manage ticketing for VAM’s events, tracking sales revenue, and driving audience engagement;
- Monitor and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal use and allocation of resources;
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing and the music education sector.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with minimum three years of experience in a marketing role or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective marketing strategies;
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva, or equivalent software;
- Exceptional copywriting and messaging skills;
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills;
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and branding;
- Passion for music and a genuine interest in promoting the arts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
