CANS is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of **Manager, Project & Procurement Information**.
The **Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) **is an industry trade association representing the interests of contractors, suppliers, and service providers throughout Atlantic Canada and across the country. We represent 800 large and small companies that build, renovate, and restore non-residential buildings, roads, bridges, and other engineering projects.
This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the development of CANS project and procurement information services, while supervising, scheduling, supporting, and motivating the Project Information Specialist Team to reach productivity targets, ensure accuracy, and deliver timely project information to membership in alignment with the organization's strategic directives.
Reporting to the Director, Financial Services, this position will be leading the sourcing and maintenance of construction tender and procurement information in a variety of formats, managing, and further developing CANS project information database, developing, and implementing workflow processes, administering Prompt Payment Adjudication functions, and educating and engaging membership and industry in the awareness and adoption of CANS services.
This is a full-time position.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
**Project Information Services**:
- Develop, plan, implement, and manage workflow processes required to deliver exceptional project information services, while being responsible for all project information related areas of CANS website (CANSnet) and service offerings.
- Manage and support CANS Project Information Services Team to ensure individual and team success, accuracy, efficiency, engagement, productivity, growth, development, value for membership, and attainment of service benchmarks.
- Lead the sourcing, collection, and posting of construction project tender information through various public and private information sources (project tender documents and information, addenda, plan-takers, bid-results, awards, etc.)
- Build relationships within industry to further engage membership, contracting authorities, tender information providers, owners, contractors, and other industry organizations in the area of project information and best procurement practices.
- Engage with membership to bring awareness and adoption of CANS Project Information services via onboarding and service information sessions for membership.
- Oversee team training needs, scheduling, and attendance records. Assist as required by performing Project Information Specialist duties should staffing issues occur.
- Engage and educate membership and industry on CCDC and CCA construction documents to promote awareness and adoption of high standards of practice, while maintaining Document inventory and achieving CANS Construction Document Sales targets.
- Further develop, maintain, and manage CANS Construction Document Printing services to ensure high product standards and achievement of sales targets.
- Manage and perform the administration functions of Prompt Payment Adjudication Services in coordination with a service agreement between CANS and the third-party Prompt Payment Adjudication Body in Nova Scotia.
- Other duties as required in alignment with CANS operational plan and strategic direction.

- Works independently with little supervision, on a daily operational basis.
- Takes initiative to keep abreast of issues related to project information and procurement within the construction industry.
- Maintains a positive attitude focused on total organizational success.
- Is aware of and works within all brand standards.
- Consults with direct report and CANS Senior Management as necessary to ensure service integrity.
- Identifies and brings forward opportunities and items that impact CANS Project Information Services.
**Decision Autonomy**:
- Works within CANS policies, procedures, and strategic plan, but has latitude in making decisions on routine tasks; able to identify, consider, and manage the implications of any change process as it relates to the role, including the wider impact on CANS, in discussion and with approval of the Director of Financial Services.
**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**:
- Exceptional computer skills and an understanding of and passion for Information Technology.
- Basic knowledge of the general structure and organization of the non-residential construction industry.
