Construction Safety Nova Scotia (CSNS) is an industry founded and funded membership based not-for-profit association focused on improving Occupational Health & Safety outcomes in the construction industry. With the support of the Board of Directors, the CSNS team enables a safer construction industry by engaging with the membership organizations to reduce injuries and improve safety culture. As leaders in Occupational Health & Safety and through collaboration with industry partners, CSNS is making Nova Scotia safer.

CSNS provides training and services with qualified, competent, and engaging safety professionals. Working with construction employers & employees, youth, and people throughout Nova Scotia, CSNS enables stakeholders to develop the knowledge, values, and skills needed for safer work practices. CSNS offers a variety of training and mentoring opportunities through the Certificate of Recognition (COR) training, the Safety Culture Project, and the Construction Entry-Level Training (CELT), in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Legislation. ISO 9001 standards guide CSNS’s practice to be compliant, safe, and efficient for our members and province.

Under the direction of and reporting to the Director, Quality and Innovation, the Project Manager plays a key role in advancing existing programs and new initiatives within the safety mandate. In collaboration with our service delivery and leadership teams as well as industry stakeholders, the Project Manager will develop and deliver best of breed solutions as well as lead of the Project Management Office (PMO). Through collaborative engagement and exceptional project management, the Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of internal and external stakeholder-based projects.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead initiatives involving programs, services, systems and organizational change
- Plan, lead, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of complex internal and external stakeholder-based projects and deliverables
- Lead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) by ensuring projects are delivered within the prescribed budget, schedule, quality standards and guidelines set out by CSNS and external stakeholders
- Identify program/project milestones, critical success factors, and resource requirements
- Provide proactive leadership and direction to Project Management and Delivery Teams
- Proactively identify risk impacts to project plans and work with the Leadership Team to review identified risks, recommend disposition (accept, monitor, mitigate), monitor performance, resolve and implement approved mitigation strategies
- Engage project stakeholders regularly by keeping them informed of delivery progress, risks and issues and managing expectations on deliverables.
- Develop, document, provide and present project management documentation (plans, status reports, risk logs, etc.); communicate regularly with the organization to share progress, celebrate success and seek advice/input
- Analyze, problem solve, and research project elements as required
- Manage budgets and align project deliverables to expected business benefits
- Negotiate changes in scope, budget or schedule with Sponsor and Steering Committees
- Other duties as assigned by the Director, Quality and Innovation.

**EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field
- Practical experience in occupational health and safety in the construction sector preferred, with a focus on training development and e-learning service delivery
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, time and resources (financial, human, etc.)
- Knowledge of OHS regulations and standards applicable to the construction sector including Certificate of Recognition (COR), ISO 45001, ISO 9000 and the NS Occupational Health and Safety Act is considered an asset
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and other collaborative tools
