Part-Time Child and Youth Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Developmental Disabilities?

We are currently seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to join our team as Part-Time Child and Youth Workers. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing support, supervision, and therapeutic care within a group home setting and the broader Durham community.

**Responsibilities**:
Provide support and supervision to children and youth diagnosed with ASD, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and dual diagnoses.

Facilitate life and social skills learning to promote the development and independence of our supported individuals.

Ability to work a variety of shifts to accommodate appointments after school, in the evenings, and on weekends.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with youth and adapt to accommodate developmental needs.

Practice culturally competent approaches.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with electronic client records management systems.

Excellent organizational.

Hold CPI, UMAB, ABA, First Aid certification.

Criminal Record check.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to transport residents to community functions or appointments.

Capable of assisting with lifting and hygiene care.

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience working with clients with complex needs, including ASD and developmental disabilities.

Possess a relevant diploma or degree in the Social Services Field (CYW, DSW, EA, Licensed SW, or SSW).

ABA Certificate is considered an asset.

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Proficient in verbal and written communication, as well as administrative tasks.

Familiarity and certification in CPI, SMG, UMAB, and possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

Must have a valid driver's license (full G or G2) and a clean driving record.

Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening (VPC accepted if within the last 6 months).
