Vice President of Operations

**Job Summary**:
The Dilawri Automotive Group is among the leading automotive sales & service organizations in Eastern Ontario with over 350 employees and 11 dealerships located in Ottawa, and prides itself on having the top performing dealerships for all our brands.
Our Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all Sales & Fixed Operations activities in the Dilawri Auto Group, ensuring the continued development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet both our current and future needs of the entire organization.
- **Supervisory Responsibilities**:_
- Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of management-level staff across all 11 dealerships.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the entire Sales, Service and Parts organizations.
- Provides constructive and timely performance process evaluations and assessments in a multi-dealership environment.
- In conjunction with managerial reports, handles discipline and termination of employees company-wide in accordance with company policy and ESA standards.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operational divisions across all 11 dealerships.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operational projects and systems.
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
- Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, accounting, Sales & Service initiatives, CSI, Parts and inventory, hardware/software acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
- Reviews and approves organizational cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements.
- Establishes and administers the departmental budgets.
- Presents performance reports and metrics to the President and other leadership.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operational automotive management.
- Identifies automotive training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Required Skills/Abilities**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong supervisory and leadership skills, all honed predominantly within the automotive industry.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the automotive sales & service industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to administrative and procedural detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant automotive industry software.
**Education and Experience**:
- Degree/diploma in Business Administration or other industry-related field required. An MBA would be a strong asset.
- A minimum of 10 years of automotive industry-related experience including at least 3 years as a VP or Regional Manager with full operational responsibility for both Sales and Fixed Operations in a multi-dealership environment (i.e. at least 3 or more dealerships).
