**Hulse, Playfair & McGarry is looking for an Accounting Technician.**

We have an opening, in our downtown Ottawa location, for an in-house, experienced accounting technician.

**Duties of the position include, but are not limited to**:

- Clerical duties and data entry
- General ledger maintenance and account reconciliation
- Filings according to provincial/federal tax laws
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Data analysis, financial forecasting and reporting

If you have the following qualifications, proficiencies and competencies we want to hear from you

**Qualifications**:

- High school certificate
- College-level accounting/bookkeeping certificate
- Have a minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience

**Proficiencies**:

- Quickbooks
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Office Suite
- English language (reading, writing, speaking)

**Competencies**:

- Great interpersonal skills
- Detailed-oriented
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Able to adhere to tight deadlines
- Can effectively communicate with staff and senior management

**About Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Homes**:
Our firm is celebrating over 95 years of dedicated service to the community and to the Nation. It all started when Charles and Percy Hulse formed their partnership of Hulse Brothers in 1925. In 1933, Charlie Hulse invited Keith Playfair to join him as a partner. The two quite opposite personalities complimented one another and within a few years the firm's name changed from Hulse Brothers to Hulse & Playfair. In 1938-39, the new partnership made a bold move by building Ottawa's first funeral chapel. The firm grew rapidly to become Ottawa's largest locally owned and operated funeral business. Today the funeral home is owned and operated by Sharon McGarry and Patrick McGarry.We believe that our greatest strength and most valuable asset is our team of dedicated licensed funeral directors and support staff. Many of our staff are actively involved in local communities and professional associations.
