We are currently looking for a **Credit and Collection Specialist (Retail)** to join our corporate office team based at our distribution branch in Burlington.

**Job Description**:
Responsibilities: Working from our Burlington office you will:

- Credit, Collection, and administration for Retail accounts and or commercial accounts
- Need to resolve and follow up on unauthorized deduction.
- Upload payment for all Retail accounts and handling mismatch payments
- Reconcile payments of retail accounts against our record of receivables
- Responsible for credit and collection for assigned supply center
- Maintain policies and procedures related to credit, receivables, collections
- Maintain corporate DSO targets and attain performance objectives as established
- Assess and analyze the creditworthiness of new and existing customer and establish credit limits per customer.
- Evaluate credit data
- Obtain and analyze bank and trade references
- Obtain and analyze credit reports
- Responsible for releasing orders on credit hold
- Provide timely updates on collection activity
- Initiate collection calls and other action for escalated receivables issues
- Dispute resolution and mitigation
- Liaise with distribution branch staff to assist with effective management of A/R issues and collections
- Professionally communicate with customers on escalated disputes
- Document collection efforts
- Special projects as assigned by the Director of Credit

**Qualifications**:
Experience and education:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of the construction industry. Application of liens a plus
- Mature and dependable disposition
- High degree of organization and attention to detail/accuracy
- Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office - specifically excel
- University Degree in Business or related field (preferred)
- Great initiative and autonomy
- AS400 experience a plus
- Ability to function in a fast paced & high-energy, ever changing environment with a strong sense of urgency and flexibility
