**Assistant Controller**

We are looking for an Assistant Controller with full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in construction related, industrial company. We currently have a hybrid work model. Our offices are located at 876 Derwent Way, Annacis Island, Delta, BC.

Stormtec is a specialty water management company that makes the lives of their customers easier by taking on their water management challenges. When we do it right, no one notices us doing our work - not our customers, not the communities we work in, not the fish in the local streams. Except that our customers realize we don’t have the ongoing headache of water management. We provide water management solutions for sediment control, contaminated water treatment, dewatering and bypass solutions in the construction industry.

We’ve doubled in size over the last three years and expects to double again. We have a young, progressive team of 70 staff, led by an ambitious President & CEO who is leading the company through unprecedented but sustainable growth.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the responsibilities include:

- Supervise all A/P functions for the group of companies in BC and Alberta
- Ensure month end is accurate and complete for the CEO’s review.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger
- Weekly reconcile cash and prepare 13-week cash-flow forecast ensuring the company is in a healthy cash-position.
- Champion and build collaborative working relationships between Finance, Operations and Sales.
- Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting: Reconcile Inventory/WIP/serialized equipment and other items on the monthly basis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with company’s accounting policies.
- Assist with annual budgeting process and monthly management reporting.

**Technical Experience and Qualifications**
- Professional accounting designation / CPA
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Min. 5 years accounting experience in a medium size private company, preferably in a team-oriented, project accounting environment.
- Solid knowledge of ASPE
- Previous work experience in a construction /related industrial company.
- Hands on experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP system
- Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office suite and proprietary software.

There’s no doubt that you’ll face some challenges; but you will be up for it because of your drive, your detail orientation and smarts.

The workweek is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. We have a hybrid work model (Annacis Island/Delta BC head office/ working from home).

At Stormtec, an offer of employment is dependent on reference checks with direct managers and criminal record check. Canadian work authorization is required.
