**Job Overview**:
We are in search of an experienced Controller to join our Finance team to support Alpine Building Maintenance on its growth path in Canada. This person would be responsible for building and improving the accounting functions. This is a high-visibility role where you will support executive leadership and assist in guiding the accounting team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Plan, coordinate and manage day-to-day accounting processes, including oversight of accounting staff.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual corporate accounts, including consolidations and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, bank management summaries and payments/collections reviews.
- Prepare internal and external financial reports.
- Prepare annual financial statements.
- Prepare tax and statistical returns and other filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all taxation and legislative requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory authority and audit requirements.
- Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Maintain, evaluate and enhance the integrity of corporate accounting and internal control systems, accounting processes, documentation, data retention and account management practices.
- Prepare financial analysis for corporate analysis purposes.
- Conduct regular internal audit and internal process control reviews.
- Assist in the preparation of management and board reporting.

**Professional Qualifications, Experience and Skills**:

- More than five years of experience in a similar accounting capacity.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA/CA designation preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities in a growth oriented organization.
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly.
- Leadership abilities and great communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and applies a creative approach to problem solving.

**Accountability and Deliverable**:
Position carries significant accountability and confidentiality. Employee is expected to handle all company information on a strictly confidential basis.

**Working Conditions**:
This position is expected to have regular hours from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Central Head Office located in Delta B.C., and may require some additional hours on evenings and weekends as needed.
